The first Ulyana Sergeenko collection show was held in Moscow in April 2011. Her debut 2011-2012 Fall Winter collection became something of an imaginary illustration of a Soviet fashion magazine in the 1950s. Elegant woman silhouettes, print dresses with full skirts, floral silk blouses, slim waist coats, knitted hats and openwork mittens – these heart-felt Russian things provided for the basis of Ulyana Sergeenko Fashion House.
Ulyana Sergeenko is a recognized brand not only in Russia, but also far beyond its borders. In 2015 the Supervisory Board of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture chose Ulyana Sergeenko as an official Haute Couture Week participant, which is held each season in Paris. Ulyana Sergeenko is the first-ever Russian brand to be honoured to participate in the main fashion event.
Within seven years Ulyana Sergeenko has established a value chain with many workshops and tailor shops of folk crafts throughout Russia. There is Yelets and Vologda lace, Rostov finift and filigree, various techniques of hand-embroidery in every Ulyana Sergeenko Couture collection. One of the major tasks that Ulyana sets for herself is to keep alive and develop the precious skills and traditions of the Russian people.
